ABCD Events

Every year, ABCD partakes in various exams under the National Association of Teachers of Dance syllabus. Exams are taken to recognise the development in each pupil and further their learning. 

Ever wonder what to do during the school summer holidays? Look no further than ABCD's annual Summer School! A jam-packed week of activities such as dancing, singing, acting, sports, crafts, talent shows, games and FUN!

Every year ABCD support a chosen charity and hold special events during the course of the year. We have supported the Make A Wish Foundation, Once Upon A Smile, Phab Kids, and more.

We always like to have fun raising money for charity by doing things such as bake sales, crazy hair days, raffles, themed costume days and much more! 

ABCD has had a competition team running for several years, whereby specially selected pupils are given the opportunity to enter into dance competitions around the North West against other local schools. We are able to do this several times in the year, and it is a great experience for all involved. This includes solos and duets, aswell as team entries. Our competition team is fabulous and a real credit to the school, we are very proud to have had so many 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th place awards. 

Similar to our Singing Evening, our Musical Theatre evening is a performance just for our Musical Theatre class. The performance includes all aspects of performance; singing, dancing and acting. The child learn and perform a musical in-house for their friends and families. Not only does this experience progress pupils confidence, but it also demonstrates their many skills. A fun-filled evening of musical mayhem...what's not to love?!

One of the most exciting events of our year is our annual Summer Ball; a day where all our ABCDers are recognised for their achievements throughout the year. This includes an awards ceremony, special awards, dancing, games, music, prizes, and lots of fun! 

Since the school opened in 2012, we have always performed our Christmas Cracker show. A full weekend of shows, where every pupil gets a special moment to perform on the stage for their friends and families. Our sell-out shows are the perfect opportunity to showcase all the talent we have at ABCD. It is one of our favourite events of the year! We include dances, musical segments and songs, with professional lighting, costumes, and pyrotechnics!

The N.A.T.D Scholarships are for exceptional students with high levels of dance technique and performance skills. We are proud to have had many occasions where our pupils have represented ABCD, and not only made it to the finals, but also won in certain categories! 

ABCD have been hosting an evening dedicated to our vocalists in the school since 2022. It is a wonderful opportunity for those who have singing lessons, to showcase their accomplishments, improvements and talent! This in-house performance allows our pupils to gain confidence performing independently for an audience too.
